    FULL TIME!

There's the inevitable. India gave it their all. They fought hard for 60 minutes but eventually come up way short.

China are a cut above the rest in the Asian continent and it was on display in Hangzhou. India did finally manage to breach the Chinese defence, becoming the first team to do so in the tournament and they can be happy about that.

But there is still a long way to go to even put China under pressure.

    56' - China SCOREEE!

An excellent run on the right flank from Li Hong before penetrating the circle. She selflessly crosses the ball to Zou Meirong after doing all the hardwork.

Meirong makes no mistake in deflecting the ball in.

    55' - Five minutes left

India continue to apply pressure on the Chinese defence but there are rarely any mistakes from the Olympic medallists. Time is running out for India but they are still taking the fight to their opponents.

    49' - CHINA SCOREEE!

A counter attack from China and they earn a penalty corner. India isn't happy with the decision but decide against reviewing that.

Tan Jinzhuang steps up to take the drag flick and she slots it past a diving Bichu Devi. China have extended their lead.

    48' - Excellent from India

A good cross from the right into the circle from India and there is chaos in front of the goal. Multiple players stabbing at the ball for control and Sunelita Toppo gets the better of everyone to slot the ball in.

But unfortunately, the umpire had already blown the whistle for an Indian foot inside the circle before Toppo sent the ball in. This will haunt India, for sure.

    47' - India down to 10 players

Not an ideal start to the final quarter for India as they are down to ten players. Udita picks up a green card.

    END OF THIRD QUARTER!

Another encouraging quarter for India. They have become the first team to breach the Chinese defence. The Olympic silver medallist have conceded a goal for the first time this tournament, thanks to a brilliant goal from Mumtaz Khan.

China did score early in the quarter and had another penalty corner but India fought back well.

Harendra Singh would hope his girls can find a goal more in the final 15 minutes.

45' - Good run from Lalremsiami

Excellent from Lalremsiami as she runs around the defence to penetrate the circle from left. Some 3D skills on display, but her lift is a bit too high for the umpire's liking. Foul called.

    40' - SAVE, BICHU!

A good move from the right by China and the cross comes in. Shot taken on first time and it is on target. Bichu Devi stands tall in front of the goal. Brilliant reflexes as she kicks the ball away with her left foot. Brilliant goalkeeping there.
