FIH Men's Junior Hockey World Cup LIVE: The Indian men's hockey team beat Belgium 4-3 on penalty shoot-out in the quarter-finals of the 2025 FIH Men's Junior Hockey World Cup on Friday.
Rohit and Shardanand Tiwari scored for India as the regulation time ended 2-2 after Belgium drew level with exactly a minute left on the clock.
Tiwari excelled in the shoot-out as well scoring as many as three penalty strokes. Princedeep also delivered the goods under pressure, making two crucial saves.
Ankit Pal scored the eventual winner, sending India to the semi-finals for a fourth consecutive edition.

Some shoddy defensive work from Ankit Pal and Belgium continue from where they left off in the third quarter. A PC to start with.

END OF THIRD QUARTER!
That also brings an end to the third quarter of play. India were in control as Belgium sat back to defend. It back fired as India finally equalised.
There was some chaos in the final ten seconds but the scores remain level.

45' - Drama out in the middle!
Some drama now at the end of the third quarter. Belgium earn a penalty corner with 0:00s left on the clock.
The first drag flick is blocked by Princedeep but raises high to gift Belgium a second. The second hits Rohit, the first rusher's feet and they are handed a third.
The third drag flick his cleared away by the Indians. Belgium feel that the ball hit the foot of a defender and ask for a review.
That, however, was not foot and instead a dangerous ball from India as it took a stick of theirs and raised high.
The fourth PC has been awarded and this time Princedeep Singh saves cleanly!

45' - INDIA EQUALISE!
The pressure was on and the captain delivers. Rohit with a powerful drag flick and the ball pierces into the net. That was powerful from the India.
Just 17 seconds left on the clock for the third quarter and India earn a PC as the ball is raised high following a save from the Belgian goalkeeper.
Rohit ensured that India have equalised in the PC that ensued.

42' - Misconduct from Rosan Kujur?
As India look to penetrate from the right circle, Rosan Kujur takes Lucas Balthazar down. The Belgian captain is down in pain.
The umpire on ground asks for a review against Kujur for a serious misconduct. The TV umpire advises him otherwise -- she feels it was a routine play.

A good move from India. As Belgium sit back deep, the hosts maneuver the ball along the ground with short passes and they are inside the shooting circle in no time.
They earn a penalty corner but as has been the case so far tonight, the drag flick from Anmol Ekka is gone wide.

38' - India with more control
India have had more control of the ball in the third quarter so far. But there haven't been many chances that they have created.
The penetrate the circle from the right now and Manmeet reckons he has earned a penalty corner. The umpire disagrees, so India ask for a review.
The replays show that the ball did not hit the foot but rather the hand which is seen as an extension of the hand. India lose their referral.
