Indian wrestlers continued their quest for medals on the penultimate day of freestyle Wrestling at the World Championships in Croatia, Zagreb, on Wednesday.
The final four women's freestyle wrestlers - Antim Panghal (53 Kg), Manisha Bhanwala (62 Kg), Radhika Jaglan (68 Kg), and Jyoti Berwal (72 Kg) - began their campaign today.
Meanwhile, Priya Malik, who earned a repechage yesterday, was aiming to open India's medal count but lost her bronze medal bout to a Paris Olympic medalist in women's 76 kg.

Priya had a tough time against a strong Cuban wrestler, who gave no chance of attack to Priya and dominated the bronze medal bout, registering a technical superiority win.

Playing against the Paris Olympics finalist, Antim fought bravely, but that early 4-pointer cost her the bout as she failed to find any opening in the second half.
Although she got a take-down with 16 seconds on the clock, she wasn't able to find any other turns forward and lost a close bout.

Antim Panghal is the only Indian to reach the semis at the 2025 World C'ships
After her inspiring quarterfinal win, Antim Panghal has booked her spot in the semis, the only Indian wrestler to do so at this event.
She will now face the Olympic silver medalist and the top-seeded Ecuadorian wrestler, LucÃa Yépez, in the semi-final at 8:00 PM IST.
This will be the first meeting between the two wrestlers, and whoever wins the bout will be reaching their maiden World Championships final.

Manisha tried hard but could not breach the defence of Kim

Kim capitalized on her 8-0 First-half lead to defeat Manisha, avenging her Asian Championships loss and advancing to the semifinals at the World Championships.
Manisha went all guns blazing in the second half, but Kim's solid defense didn't allow her any chance of a comeback. She will now depend on Repechage for her Maiden World Cships medal.
