After a goalless draw with Indonesia on Wednesday, the Indian U20 women’s team returned to the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon on Friday, August 8, 2025, with one clear objective: to secure their first win in the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026 Qualifiers (Group D).

India’s U20 women’s team stormed to the top of Group D in the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers with a thumping 7-0 win over Turkmenistan in Yangon.

Braces from Shubhangi Singh and Sulanjana Raul, along with goals from Sibani Devi, Thoibisana Chanu, and Pooja, sealed a commanding victory.

The Young Tigresses now lead Myanmar on goal difference, setting up a decisive final clash on August 10.

    37' Sulanjana Raul joins the scoresheet!

    Barely two minutes after setting up the third, Sulanjana Raul gets a goal of her own in the 37th minute. Picking up the ball just inside the box, she takes a quick touch to set herself before firing a crisp shot past the Turkmenistan keeper. India now cruise at 4-0, with the Young Tigresses showing no signs of slowing down.

    In the 35th minute, India strike once more from a set-piece. Sulanjana Raul delivers a precise corner from the left, curling it perfectly into the danger zone. Thoibisana Chanu rises above her marker and powers a header into the net, extending the Young Tigresses’ lead to 3-0 at the Thuwunna Stadium.

    The Young Tigresses strike again in the 14th minute. Neha drives down the left flank and drills a low cross into the danger area. Sibani Devi times her run perfectly, connecting first time to steer the ball past the Turkmenistan keeper. India now lead 2-0 and are in full control at the Thuwunna Stadium.
