The first round is of the Demark Open 2021 is done and dusted and we move into the pre-quarterfinals or the Round of 16 today. Quite a few of the Indians including the husband-wife duo of Parupalli Kashyap-Saina Nehwal and the veteran doubles specialist Ashwini Ponnappa have already been knocked out of contention.
Can the remaining Indians, which includes double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu, former world number 1 Kidambi Srikanth, the rising men's doubles pair of Satwik-Chirag and others keep the Indian flag flying in Denmark?

PV SINDHU will take to the court next for India. She will play Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Thailand on court number 1 - the exact place where Srikanth lost just now.
This should be easy for Sindhu, who holds a massive 12-1 record against the Thai.

Kapila-Reddy lose first game!
After a great start to the match, the mixed doubles pair of Dhruv Kapila and Sikki Reddy has surrendered the first game 21-17 in 15 minutes.
They were in control a few minutes ago, but Tang-Tse upped their game and Kapila-Reddy suddenly seemed to be like a fish out of water. Much to improve for the Indians in the second game.

Kidambi Srikanth KNOCKED OUT!
Kidambi Srikanth has been knocked out of the Denmark Open 2021 by the World Number 1 Kento Momota. The Indian lost 21-23, 9-21.
Srikanth played extremely well in the first game, but once Momota pocketed that he gave no chance to the Indian and wrapped up the second game in 18 minutes!

Having led 11-7 at the mid-game break, Dhruv Kapila and Sikki Reddy now trail 14-15. This is going downhill very quickly for India.
