BWF World Championships 2025: Following an outstanding performance in the pre-quarterfinals, Indian shuttlers are now one victory away from securing medals in three categories at the 2025 BWF World Championships in Paris, France, on Friday.
PV Sindhu, India's only singles contender, will be high on confidence for her quarterfinal match against Indonesia's Putri Wardani, following her impressive victory over China's second-seeded Wang Zhi Yi.
Meanwhile, it will be a repeat of the Paris Olympics quarterfinals in the men's doubles category, where India's Satwik and Chirag will face the Malaysian duo of Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik.
On the other hand, the pair of Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto will be taking on the fourth-seeded Malaysian pair of Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei in their quarterfinal matchup.

Satwik-Chirag confirms a historic medal for India
The Indian men's doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty successfully avenged their Paris Olympics defeat against Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik to confirm a medal at the World Championships.
The duo registered a much comfortable straight-game victory despite a late surge from the Malaysians in the later half of the second game

Sindhu's fighting run fell short at the Quarterfinal stage
PV Sindhu could not breach past the quarterfinals, losing a tight three-game match to world no.9 Putri Wardani of Indonesia.
Wardani played some beautiful, deceptive shots to make Sindhu run all over the court and finish with the easy winners in the end. Sindhu countered that with her long reach cross cross-court shots, gaining some time from the retrieval.
In the final game, the same tactics worked for both players, and the scores were almost even post mid-game, but in the end, Sindhu lacked composure and made a couple of unforced errors while going for overkill.
