Indian paddlers were in action at the first round of the 2025 Table Tennis World Championships in Doha, Qatar on Saturday.
Sreeja Akula, Diya Chitale, and Manush Shah played the singles round of 128 matches, whereas the men's doubles duo of Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah were in action in the round of 64.
In women's doubles, both Indian pairs of Diya / Yashaswini Ghodpade and Ayhika Mukherjee / Sutirtha Mukherjee began their campaign in the first round.

- WS - Diya Chitale (IND) won against (4-0) Sofia-Xuan Zhang (ESP)
Indian youngster Diya Chitale progressed to the second round with a dominating straight-game win over a Spanish pair at the ITTF World Championships.
After winning the first three games comfortably, Diya had a fighting fourth game where she came from behind to topple Sofia after the deuce and confirmed her place in the round of 64.
Final Score: - Diya Chitale (IND) 4-0 (11-4, 11-7, 11-3, 14-12) Sofia-Xuan Zhang (ESP)
Manush Shash began his 2025 World Championships singles campaign with a 4-2 win over Portugal's Tiago Apolonia.
Tiago showed some good, deceptive block shots, but the attacking play of Manush Shah was a big task for him, marking his exit in the first round of the tournament.
