2025 ITTF World C'ships Highlights: The Indian campaign in singles events at the 2025 ITTF World Championships in Doha came to an end on Tuesday as Manika Batra, Diya Chitale, and Manav Thakkar bowed out in Round of 64.
While Batra lost out to a lower ranked Park Gahyeon of South Korea 0-4 in straight games, Thakkar put up a brave fight against fourth seed Tomokazu Harimoto before losing 2-3.
Chitale, meanwhile, took a game off the tenth seed Cheng I-Ching of Chinese Taipei before losing 1-4.

Three Indians in action – Manika Batra, Diya Chitale, Manav Thakkar – and all three of them exit in singles Round of 64.
While this loss brings an end to their campaign in Doha for Batra and Thakkar, Chitale still has the women's doubles event left. She has already reached the pre-quarterfinals in the event along with Yashaswini Ghorpade.

There's the inevitable. Diya Chitale also takes an exit from women's singles at the 2025 ITTF World Championships, losing out 1-4 to Cheng I-Ching of Chinese Taipei.
Chitale never really looked as if she posed any major threat to Cheng.
The Indian loses 3-11, 7-11, 6-11, 11-6, 5-11.
Diya Chitale with a much better display in the fourth game. She fights back to win it 11-6 and ensures that she doesn't exit with a straight games loss.
Chitale trails 1-3.
Cheng continues to outplay the Indian and all Diya Chitale can do at the moment is shake her head. The Chinese Taipei paddler just too good for her currently.
Diya loses the third game 6-11 and trails 0-3.
The next game is a must win for Diya to keep her hopes alive.
Much better from Diya Chitale in the second game but it is not enough to trouble Cheng. The Indian concedes the second game 7-11 and now trails 0-2 in the match.

Diya Chitale looked no match to her opponent in the opening game. The Indian surrenders tamely at 3-11 in the first game.
The reigning Indian national champion Diya Chitale is out in the middle for her women's singles Round of 64 clash.
She goes up against Chinese Taipei's Cheng I-Ching, who is the tenth seed here in Doha.
Manav Thakkar is once again blow away. He concedes the sixth game 3-11 without much of a fight.
Tomokazu Harimoto advances to the men's singles Round of 32.
Manav Thakkar, meanwhile, bows out after a brave fight with a 2-4 loss.
