Three out of four Indian wrestlers were knocked out on the opening day of the Championships as their opponents had faced defeats in the following rounds, ending their any repachge hope.

Mukul Dahiya is the only wrestler who still has a chance of repechage, as his opponent, Zahid Valencia of the USA, has reached the semi-finals, and his win there will assure Mukul a second chance.
